This project involved creating and re-designing from patterns a flower girl dress for my daughter to wear in my brother-in-laws wedding. His bride has chosen beautiful pick-up skirts for her bridesmaids and wanted Lexi to have the same style. Unfortunately, most dress designers did not offer that style of dress in children's sizes. We were able to find one or two that resembled the style; however, they had hefty pricetags. Out of sheer frustration, my idea was born to simply sew the perfect dress for the wedding.

I began with a pattern search because I was not brave enough to attempt a pick-up skirt without one. Same problem -- the patterns were all sized for adults. Herein lay my challenge to alter the pattern to fit a child.
